Aarogyasri
Aarogyasri Scheme is a unique government-sponsored community health insurance scheme being implemented by the Government of Telangana. The scheme is the flagship of all health initiatives of the state government with a mission to provide quality healthcare to the Below Poverty Line (BPL) population.
The old city of Hyderabad’s population is majorly the habitants of Muslim community, as most of them are self employed citizens. Since many of them are from BPL population, their living conditions are very conducive and few are in a pathetic condition. For any health emergencies, they have to visit the corporate hospitals, which is very burdensome in surgery cases as they are financially not so sound. After the introduction of Aarogyasri, the BPL populations are very thankful to the state government, as their biggest health emergency concerns and services are catered in the empaneled hospitals, Corporate, trust hospitals.
Owaisi Hospital and Research Centre (OHRC), Hyderabad, is catering services to the needy population since 40 years. OHRC is catering Aarogyasri services since the inception of the scheme in 2007. OHRC is a multi-specialty hospital with global standards; services are provided to the population.
